[Vitae et sententiae philosophorum]
This is a 15th century printed Latin translation of the work probably written in the first half of the third century AD by the Greek writer Diogenes Laertius. It is a biography of the Greek philosophers and constitutes one of the principal surviving sources of Greek philosophy. The work is divided into two parts described by Diogenes Laertius as the Ionian and Italian schools of thought.
