A study of the sources of the Rudolf von Ems’ Alexanderroman, written by a German philologist Oswald von Zingerle (1855–1927).
Rudolf von Ems (ca. 1200–1254) was a mediaeval Austrian epic poet, who wrote an impressive number of works, but only five of them are preserved (Der guote Gerhart, Barlaam und Josaphat, Alexanderroman, Weltchronik and Willehalm von Orlens).
