Portretten van de Leidse bakker Arent Oostwaard en zijn vrouw Catharina Keizerswaard met allerlei verschillende soorten vers gebakken brood (broodjes, krakelingen, kadetten, duivekater) voor de bakkerij. In de deur van de bakkerij blaast een jongetje, waarschijnlijk hun zoontje Thaddeus, op een hoorn. Boven de deur groeien wijnranken.
