Gnomon
Le présent gnomon, portant le nom du pharaon Néphéritès Ier, est peut-être le plus ancien exemplaire connu. Cet appareil portatif était normalement muni d'un fils à plomb pour en vérifier la verticalité. L'ombre du cube se projetait sur une échelle graduée sur la partie oblique et indiquait ainsi l'heure. Il s'agit vraisemblablement d'un objet votif, vu l'absence de graduations.
