Scarab with hieroglyphs
The back of this scarab is decorated with hieroglyphs and a lotus flower. The base shows a symmetric composition of hieroglyphs: the forepart of a lion (“HAt”), the sign “nfr” (‘good, beautiful’), the “wdjAt” eye (‘healthy’), the mouth (“r”), the “djd” column (‘eternity’) and the Red Crown of Lower Egypt.
