Nicopolis, Archaeological Museum, component of an ambo
Found in the south side of the central nave of the Basilica B, this was a re-used cylindrical pentelic marble pedestal-base, put as the ambo's floor. The base has a relief scene with Amazons and dates to the 2nd c. AD. The original decoration was covered with a mosaic for the second use of the pedestal as base for the ambo.
