Temple of Apollo
After the destruction of the Archaic temple of the Alcmeonids by an earthquake in 373 B.C. the Greek cities raised funds again for the construction of a new temple. The construction stopped in 356 B.C. and began after 343/342, and was finally accomplished in 334/333 B.C., whereas the sculpted decoration of the pediments was added in 327 B.C.
