Am 1.April 1976 gründeten Steve Jobs und Stephen Wozniak die Firma Apple. Kurze Zeit später präsentierten sie ihren ersten Rechner: den Apple I. Insgesamt wurden nur 200 Apple I Rechner hergestellt.
