Figura alusi destinada al culte de divinitats tutelars
Alusi figure destined to tutelary divinities worship
Sculptures for worshipping the Alusi (tutelary deities) created by the lgbo people of Nigeria were kept in groups in sanctuaries built within villages. They were periodically exhibited to the faithful in the course of ritual celebrations. Before doing so, the figures' polychromy was refreshed. Some were dressed.
