Carved soapstone figure of Shou lao, the God of Longevity. Depicted with long beard, high, bald head, wearing a sashed jacket with wide sleeves over long robe and carrying a 'ruyi' sceptre in his left hand. His clothes are embellished with incised dragons amid clouds, floral motifs and 'shou' (longevity) character. Partially painted with green and red pigment.
