MESOLITHIC CORE
A flint core; a cylindrical bipolar core dating probably from the Early Mesolithic, about 9000 BC - 8000 BC. The core is formed on mottled light grey flint with white cortex. The core is sub cylindrical, with two long flat faces as well as a flat face at each end. One long flat face is covered with cortex, and some cortex survives on the opposing face too.
