A post medieval, cast copper alloy, rectangular shoe or knee buckle, dating from 1690-1720AD. The buckle frame is curved and the longer edges are thicker in the centre, where they are drilled to take a separate, ferrous spindle. This spindle has broken away from the rest of the buckle.
