POST MEDIEVAL MUSKET BALL
A lead alloy musket ball of post-Medieval date, circa 1644. A prominent casting ridge and part of the casting sprue are still visible. The ball has a pale, yellowish-grey patina. It is 18mm in diameter and weighs 33.41gm. The weight suggests it would have been used in a musket. (Harding (2012) Lead Shot of the English Civil War: a Radical Study.)
