POST MEDIEVAL MOUNT
A cast copper alloy mount probably dating from the 17th century. The body is flat and kite shaped in plan. The elongated lozenge is decorated with large beading round the edge and there is a hole in the centre of the upper part, perhaps for a decorative rivet head. The reverse carries a pair of integral bent spikes, characteristic of seventeenth century mounts; one is bent and the other broken. …
