MEDIEVAL BOOK FITTING
A cast, copper alloy book clasp dating from 1350-1500. It has a sub lozenge shaped plate, with a split in it to accommodate a leather strap, like a strap end. At the end opposite the split, is a circular loop, set at right angles to the plane of the plate.
