MEDIEVAL SEAL MATRIX
Half of a fine copper alloy seal matrix dating from the late Medieval period. It is a pointed oval shape, but the upper half is missing. The reverse is convex and does not appear to have had a mid rib or handle. Described from the impression, the seal depicts a (tonsured?) suppliant kneeling right and praying at an altar.
