ROMAN BUTTON AND LOOP FASTENER
A copper alloy Button and Loop Fastener dating from 43 - 300 AD. It is an example of Wild's Class Vd which have a conical head. Projecting from the top of the back of the button is a circular sectioned shank. It has a right angle bend upwards and then divides to form a thin and worn triangular loop. The button is corroded and pitted. The fastener has a light green patina.
