ROMAN FINGER RING
Roman cast copper alloy Henig Type II finger ring length 32mm, width17mm (at bezel), height 19mm, thickness (at bezel) 3mm, weight 3.57g. The ring has an oval cross-section which tapers in from the oval bezel to the hoop. An oval recess with narrow sides in the centre of the bezel would have held a stone, intaglio or enamel (now missing). The ring has been gilt.
