EARLY MEDIEVAL MOUNT
Fragment of a cast copper alloy plate, now shield-shaped but with no surviving original edges. On the back is an integrally cast pin, 3.1mm diameter x 2.8mm high. The face of the plate bears three strand cast interlace the scheme being truncated. There is no trace of gilding.
