IRON AGE BROOCH
Roman (30-70AD) cast copper alloy incomplete Colchester one-piece brooch. There is a broken hook at the top of the bow, which would have held the external chord of the missing sprung pin. The wings are short and flat. The bow tapers in thickness from the head to the foot, and has the remains of a catchplate on the reverse. The bow is damaged and bent out of shape.
