MEDIEVAL MOUNT
Medieval cast copper alloy mount. It is rectangular in plan with a sub-triangular cross section. One end of the bar has a circular terminal with rivet hole, with a small triangular knop. The opposing end has a rivet hole before becoming hooked towards the front of the mount and has a square terminal. Part of one copper alloy rivet survives. There are traces of gilt along the edges.
