POST MEDIEVAL STRAP FITTING
A cast copper alloy 'S'-shaped strap or belt fastener, dating to the Post Medieval period (c. 1575-c. 1800 AD). The fastener has two swan or serpent head terminals with necks that curve to form hooks. Each head has a finely moulded beak and eyes, and patterning on the neck possibly represent feathers or scales.
