MEDIEVAL COIN
A silver penny from John I (AD 1166-1216), dating from AD1204-1209. London class 5bObverse shows bust of John facing front with circular pelleted curls and scepter to the left. Detail worn but inscription says HENRICVS REX. Reverse side shows a voided short cross with each quadrant containing a quatrefoil. The inscription reads [---]ER ON LVND.The coin 19mm diameter, 1.33 grams.
