ROMAN MOUNT
A complete cast copper alloy vulva mount dating to the Roman period. These mounts were used as small equine strap decorations. The mount consists of a single cast plate and two rivets. On the surface of the mount there is a raised oval boss with an incised longitudinal line. The integral backing plate is the standard rounded shield-shaped hexagon.
