IRON AGE HARNESS FITTING
Two fragments of a terret which together form a complete harness ring. The highly decorated, cast copper alloy flat-ring terret dates to the late Iron Age period, circa 50BC - AD50. The larger fragment, which comprises approximately 60% of the complete object, was found first. The smaller fragment was found some weeks later by a different finder, but from the same location.
