MEDIEVAL PURSE FRAME
Fragment of cast copper alloy purse bar (London Museum Medieval Catalogue Type A1). A length of 27.5mm remains. One of the terminal ends, it has a circular cross-section. The surface is decorated by nielloed cross-hatching and there is a small part of the integral flange, for attachment of the cloth bag, with a single rivet hole remaining. It is late 15th century in date.
