POST MEDIEVAL SWORD BELT
A postmedieval copper alloy sword belt fitting. The fitting has an openwork plate with a ring of diameter 8mm passing through a folded loop at the top. There are the remains of two iron rivets in circular holes on the plate. A similar item can be seen in B. Read 2008, Hooked Clasps and Eyes, Portcullis Publishing, Langport, page 220 no. 793. Suggested date: AD 1500-1600.
