Roman brooch; large, cast copper alloy dolphin brooch of 1st century date. The brooch has long, narrow wings with a large gap at the back for the pin to emerge. The remains of the pin spring can be seen within the wings and indicate that the pin mechanism was of iron, as the corrosion is rust red-brown.
