FRICTION MECHANISM OF A CURVE IN A ROLL TRAIN
The straight portions of the roll train have cylindrical rollers 1 of equal diameter which rotate about parallel fixed axes A and parallel fixed axes B. The curves have identical tapered rollers 2 which rotate about fixed axes C, intersecting at common point 0. The taper angle of rollers 2 should be less than the angle of friction. Otherwise, the loads will slide off the roll train on the curve.
