BOURDON, Eugène
Eugene Bourdon began his career as a watchmaker and later and engineer. Bourdon is credited with inventing the Bourdon gauge in 1849, which measures air pressure. This gauge can measure up to 100,000 pounds per square inch. This invention also helped decrease the number of steam engine incidents because before Bourdon, measuring this amount of pressure was nearly impossible. He died in 1884, but h…
