Necklace made out of horsehair
Necklace made of horsehair for a metal cross with the inscription "World War 1914". The chain was made between 1915 and 1916 by Martin Schmidt in the trenches near Berry-au-Bac, France. Schmidt, born November 6, 1896 in Oberneundorf, died February 19, 1980 in Plauen, served in the 11th company of the Royal Saxon Life Grenadier Regiment No. 100 and was taken prisoner of war by the French in 1916.
