Jean de Foville, librarian at the BNF and writer, on the list of writers who died in action at the Panthéon, died for France at Les Eparges during a bayonet charge. The family returned to Seine-Inférieure in 1907. Jean de Foville was in Arques-la-Bataille at the time of mobilization and lived in Paris for work during the week.
