Peripheral cornea/conjunctiva
Transmission electron micrograph showing the peripheral cornea/conjunctiva from a patient with ocular malignant melanoma. The basal epithelium on the right is normal and the stroma on the left contains phagocytic cells some of which contain phagosomes encapsulating pigment granules. This field is approximately 40 microns across.
