Abnormal keratocyte in the corneal stroma
Transmission electron micrograph showing an abnormal stromal keratocyte in the cornea. This cell shows Golgi apparatus and prominent lipid droplets in the cytoplasm which it appears to be releasing into the surrounding stroma. There are also atypical or fine fibrilar deposits in the stroma. This field is approximately 11 microns across.
